This Privacy Statement uses the same definitions as stated in section 1.1 of the Terms of Service.

Introduction
When you visit The Service or a Babysite, the Service Provider collects several kinds of User and Visitor data, either directly (where you are asked to provide the data) or indirectly. This can be Personal Data or general information like statistics of website visits.
The Service Provider will, however, only use your Personal Data in accordance with the purposes set forth in this Privacy Statement and is committed to safeguarding the Personal Data collected.
This statement informs you about our policy concerning gathering your Personal Data and the use of your Personal Data, the use of cookies and what you can do in case you don't wish to provide or receive certain information.
Purpose of information gathering
The Service Provider collects and processes information about the Users and Visitors of The Service and Babysites to conduct its business, to inform and make available products and services that may be of interest to its Users and for the development of web statistics. The gathered information is for the exclusive use of the Service Provider.
The information that you specifically provide with Registering will be used to conduct business with you, to contact you when necessary, to notify about functionality changes of The Service or to offer additional services or features of the Service Provider that might be of interest to you (provided you have not opted out to receive such messages).
Indirectly the Service Provider may collect and analyse information in connection with the use of The Service, such as the number of hits, the pages visited, previous sites visited that linked to The Service pr subsequent sites that were linked from The Service, and length of User session for the development of web statistics. This information is used for performing statistical analyses of our services to futher optimize and improve The Service. This information may be collected by using cookies [as described below].
Personal Data
To create a Babysite, The Service requires your name, address and a valid emailaddress. This information is used to contact you in occuring cases, to conduct business with you, to send products like the keepsake CD-rom, or to consult you in case you contact our service department. Therefore it is in your own interest to provide this information correctly.
This personal identifiable information will in no circumstance be disclosed, sold or rented to third parties. The Service Provider will not use or share your Personal Information in a manner that differs from what is described in this Privacy Statement or as otherwise agreed by you.
Username and Password
With your Registration with The Service you need to choose a Username and Password. The combination of Username and Password will be the key to acces your Babysite managementpages to modify your Babysite Content. You can change your Username or Password at any time.
In case you have lost or forgotten your Username or Password, The Service can resend this information to the e-mail address you specified at Registration [or the newest assigned e-mail address in case you changed it] when you click the 'forgot username and/or password' button on the sign-in page of the SiteManager.
Sensitive data
The Service Provider does not seek to collect sensitive personal data (such as data revealing political opinions, religious beliefs, racial background, sexual inclination, health, any kind of membership or other personal matters) through The Service.
Display of personal information
The User identifiable information provided to the Service Provider at Registration and Username and Password are never subject to public display. Only the User him/herself can access this data via the SiteManager.
However, the User can choose to add personal information to certain public pages of his/her Babysite. In these cases, you explicitly provide the concerning information for a displaying purpose.
Accessibility
To secure the privacy of your personal information and your Babysite it is possible to choose from several levels of accessibility for visitors to your Babysite so not all visitors will have access to your Babysite and its contents.
In the SiteManager you can set the accessibility to your Babysite for visitors. You can choose to display a link to your Babysite at the Knuffelbaby mainsite. This option is default switched off. You can also protect access to your Babysite with a password, in which case your visitors first have to answer a question before they can continue to your Babysite. You can compose a question to which the answer is only known or made known to family, friends and colleagues.
Inquiries and polls
The Service Provider may sometimes perform an inquiry or poll among its Users to measure the interest in certain services or to measure the quality of its products. Participating in these surveys is voluntarily. Participating will happen anonimously but in some cases we save your e-mail address for a follow-up survey. After processing the data any personal information associated to the data will be deleted.
Connection and data traffic information
Each Server (www, smtp, pop3, news- and chatserver) into which you log in, keeps a record of your connection-type, IP-address, sessiontime and amount of data traffic. The Service Provider uses this data to identify and solve problems concerning the connection, planning the networkcapacity, configuring the platform, avoid abuse and improve its service.
Your websitevisits
Based on your visits of the different components of The Service, we may compose and save a profile to a profiledatabase. The goal of this registration is to adjust the websites of The Service Provider as best as possible to your needs.
No data which can be derived from site visits which may possibly provide information concerning health, race, sexual inclination, religion, political views, or any kind of membership is collected.
Within the Service Provider's organisation, only a limited amount of personnel has access to the profiledatabase. This data will not be disclosed, sold or rented to third parties.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file containing certain information of the computer connected to a website that a Server can extract from your browser. Cookies are saved to your harddisk and help you navigate a website. For instance, you won't need to re-enter certain information or preferences each time you visit the same website. Practically all professional websites make use of cookies to optimize internet traffic.
Our Server may only require cookies that relate to information that has been exchanged between you and The Service through the internet.
Because cookies contain information about number of visitors and pages that are visited, they provide The Service with information about popular areas of interest. This information is used to further optimize The Service.
Most browsers accept cookies by default. It is possible to change your browser's settings to not to accept cookies or to receive a warning in case a cookie is installed to your harddisk. It may be possible that certain areas of The Service do not function properly in case you do not accept cookies.
E-mail and message forms
To e-mail correspondence and submitted message forms via your Babysite, that concern communications between you and third parties, confidentiality of the mail is applicable. This means the Service Provider will not take notice of the Content of of any correspondence through your Babysite like the 'tell a friend'-messages and guestbook-entries. For maintenance at our Server, the service administrators have acces to the message database. It is not allowed for them to access or read your messages.
Third party sites
Please note that this Privacy Statement does not extend to any third party site linked to or from The Service or any Babysite. The Service Provider is not responsible for the privacy practices or the Content of such other websites.
Third party services that are used by The Service, like the Payment Service Provider, may be governed by their own, seperate, Privacy Statement.
Amendments
The Service Provider reserves the right to modify sections of this Privacy Statement at any time without notice. Please check this statement from time to time for any changes or updates.
Regardless of later changes or updates, the Service Provider will not use Personal Data in a new or different way without notification to the Users with an opportunity to decline.

The Service is available in various languages. If you have contacted us in one of these languages, we might not be able to communicate in that language. By default, the Service Provider will handle all international communications in English.
